Relationship owner between the Company and the customer for assigned recurring accounts, managing day to day affairs and ensuring customer satisfaction. Interact with customers to provide all the necessary information they need, process information in response to inquiries, concerns, requests about accepted materials, as well as give extra services as they require. The AM will build relationships with clients to drive new and repeat business opportunities.  The AM will manage and be measured by performance against allocated revenue budget.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist client in creating initial material approval request for new waste streams.
  • Negotiate pricing within approved discounting rules for new waste streams.
  • Logging in and tracking approval profile requests.
  • Trouble service issues related to material approvals, scheduling, deliveries, billing, or other service related issues.
  • Maintain revenue forecast for assigned book of business in CRM.
  • Review and approve complete approval package for submission to customer and follow up with customer to understanding of terms, etc.
  • Ensure effective scheduling of special waste loads into Covanta EFW facilities.
  • Monitor SW accounts receivable and assist with collection activities.
  • Collaborate across departments (Material Profiling, Sales Operations, Sales, Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections
  • Source new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.  


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in related industry
  • 3-4 years’ experience in an account manager role.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and PeopleSoft
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and time management skills
