The candidate will be responsible for the following areas:
• Actively lead activities to design our next generation aircraft blending emerging requirements and technologies
• Manage a group of people who will also define our next generation aircraft
• Establish compelling designs using various design and analysis tools and techniques
• Conduct trade studies to understand alternatives and make rational decisions
• Become adept at using a range of methods, processes, tools and techniques
Responsibilities include four key areas: 1) People, 2) Project Execution, 3) Technical Expertise and 4) Methods, Processes and Tools
People – Lead, mentor and coach people. Supervise and execute administrative duties. Develop and advance the careers of others using a variety of methods
Project Execution – Natural self-starter and self-motivated. Execute sizing and design of future advanced vehicle concepts. Blend technologies and emerging requirements into new and innovative aircraft
Technical Expertise – Champion skills and expertise of the group, specifically the area of aircraft conceptual sizing and design. Ensure a well-grounded understanding of fundamental physics and engineering. Be adept at using a range of methods, processes and tools. Execute rapid turnaround sizing and design where understanding of a wide range of options is important prior to more focused efforts. Execute robust sizing and design where detail and a higher level of fidelity is important. Ensure the efficient transfer of information and data to other groups
Methods, Processes and Tools - Mature tools that minimize error and maximize understanding. This includes maximizing user friendly and adaptability as technologies, methods, processes change. Manage the short and long term adequacy of our tools. Manage a suite of rapid design and sizing tools. Manage a suite of robust tools which offer a higher level of fidelity

Applicants should be ready provide a portfolio of previous work including relevant images, drawings, pictures, analyses, products, trade studies, etc.

Occasional travel may be required

Basic Qualifications
10+ years’ experience in a related field.
BS in engineering or equivalent field is required, an advanced technical degree in aerospace / aeronautical engineering is preferred.
Ability to obtain or maintain a Secret Clearance

Demonstrated experience in organizing and executing including planning ahead and working in a systematic and organized way; following directions and procedures; focusing on customer satisfaction and delivering a quality service or product to the agreed standards; and minimizing bureaucracy to achieve results
Demonstrated experience in adapting and coping including adapting and responding well to change; and managing pressure effectively and coping well with setbacks
Demonstrated experience in enterprising and performing including delivering both short and long term results; focusing on results and achieving personal work objectives; working best when work is related closely to results and the impact of personal efforts is obvious; showing an understanding of business, commerce, and finance; and seeking opportunities to advance the state of the art and spread wisdom to others; seeking opportunities for self-development and career advancement; and seeking opportunities for development and career advancement for others

Desired skills
Possession of current active transferable SECRET clearance is highly desirable
