The successful candidate will be the technical advisor and thought leader for the Air Force as it recapitalizes its Logistics IT.  The AF Log IT architect will lead the definition of the core platforms that enable the AF to quickly deliver new logistics capabilities to meet the emerging warfighter needs. The successful candidate will work at the two-star level across the Air Force, specifically A4 (Logistics), FM (Finance), A1 (Human Resources), and AQ (Acquisition) to make enterprise decisions related to AF IT.  The ideal candidate should have experience working at a global logistics corporation, federal agency or DoD service that deployed an ERP.  The architect will work collaboratively to bring THE BEST decisions for the AF. Key Functions 

  • Be a trusted advisor to senior Air Force Leaders (General Officer and Senior Executive Service)

  • Lead the development of Log IT Solutions Architectures and Roadmaps

  • Develop the governance of the AF Enterprise IT using the Log IT as a pathfinder

  • Be the horizontal integrator between the Logistics community and Program Offices on Log IT matters.

  • Ensure alignment from HAF, AFMC, and AFSC on logistics business processes, requirements, and programs

  • Adoption of best in class, large-scale software development and delivery disciplines (quality frameworks, DevOps, Agile, continuous integration, performance, etc.).

Required Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience in Logistics IT

  • Demonstrated ability to gain trust and influence senior AF leaders

  • Knowledge of logistic business processes

  • Experience building consensus across multiple organizations

  • Knowledgeable of current IT technologies and future trends

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with technical peers, government representatives, and MITRE team members

  • Candidate must be results-oriented, capable of delegation and effective at technical and project oversight


 
Preferred Qualifications


  • MS in IE, SE, EE, Computer Science, engineering, or other related technical fields

  • CIO or Global Solutions Architect for an ERP implementation, ideally in a supply/manufacturing domain



Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in one of the following disciplines, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering and 10 years of related experience including 2 years of leadership experience. The candidate will demonstrate an ability to foster relationship development.
