The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the College of Engineering and Computer Science (CECS) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) announces a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates with backgrounds in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related disciplines will be considered. Preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in manufacturing, energy for sustainability, aerodynamics, space systems, and mechatronics.

MAE offers B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Both BSAE and BSME programs are ABET-accredited. A new M.S. degree in Biomedical Engineering was launched in fall of 2016. MAE is home to 40 full-time faculty members, several adjuncts, and the Center for Advanced Turbomachinery and Energy Research (CATER). The reputation of the department is continually growing with numerous faculty achievements including NSF CAREERONR and DTRAYoung Investigator Awards, and fellowships in professional societies. Applicants must have a Ph.D. from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or other appropriate disciplines by the time of the appointment.
