The SAP Hybris product development organization is seeking an exceptional executive and committed leader for the role of Chief Product Officer with the vision for our new digital marketplace with an integrated service factory to enable our customers’ and partner’s digital transformation. Reporting directly into the head of Hybris as a Service the individual will be responsible for the long term vision and strategic direction as well as for defining the roadmap and rapidly driving the concept and specifications to reinvent the category with an innovative new product. Location is not an issue for this role – we are looking for deep expertise in building digital marketplaces and enterprise SaaS software. A willingness to travel internationally is however essential.



In addition to a demonstrated and extraordinary track record of success in SaaS product development, the selected candidate will have depth of experience designing and/or producing digital marketplaces and app stores for enterprise customers.


The role will include the following responsibilities:

  • Takes end to end responsibility for the development of a new digital marketplace product and organization
  • Creates the long-term product vision, strategic plan and the product road map.
  • Communicates the product vision in bold and persuasive terms at all levels to many different audiences.
  • Anticipates future business opportunities and develop strategies to address them
  • Serves on the Executive Team, “co-owning” strategy and leadership.
  • Recruits, develops and retains top product management talent.
  • Leads the product management process.
  • Delivers product and defined features, including functionalities such as app commercialization, provisioning, subscriptions management, services factory, etc. as well as supporting high-security, hybrid and multi-cloud requirements of customer and partners on time, with high quality, and high customer acceptance.
  • Management of annual budgets.



  • A University degree or higher qualification is likely, including in Business Administration, Information Technology, Marketing, Engineering or any other related field, however demonstrating evidence of building ground breaking new SaaS products and experience of digital marketplaces on an enterprise level is more important
  • Combines a strong technology background with an understanding of the economics and dynamics of digital marketplaces and/or SaaS solutions.
  • Skilled at achieving shared vision and driving execution.
  • Expert of modern forms of product planning, customer discovery, product discovery, and product development processes to execute consistently, rapidly, and effectively working as part of the entire organization
  • Proven skills in stakeholder management and internal evangelism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to deliver great presentations to audiences of different levels (customers, partners, thought leaders and board level).
  • Ability to hire, manage, coach and inspire highly talented employees across all levels to work effectively as a cohesive team. Ability to articulate a coherent mission, focus the team, and delegate effectively.

  • 10+ years of experience in software product management leadership positions 
  • 10+ years diverse experience in areas such as product marketing, management or communication
  • 5+ years experience of building SaaS products end to end, taking full responsibility from the vision, development to data to day operation of the service.
  • Prior experience with designing/developing a digital marketplace on enterprise level 



Location is not an issue for this position, proximity to one of the SAP development centers is an advantage. Ideally this full time position is based in either North East of the United States, Eastern Canada, UK or in Germany.
