You will be a Computational Geometry Software Engineer and a member of the Data Services Group (397G) and report to the Group Supervisor. Will work on the terrain system that is used by one or more space flight projects (such as MER, Mars 2020, Mars Science Laboratory) that exploit features of augmented and/or virtual reality devices. Will develop algorithms for topology features of the terrain pipeline. Will work in an agile team taking ownership of their development including test and support of features.



Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline with a minimum of 3 years of related experience; or Master's degree in similar disciplines with a minimum of 1 year of related experience; or PhD in similar disciplines.

Candidate should have knowledge and experience in 2D and/or 3D graphics design and development with knowledge in advanced mathematics and linear algebra. Experience in one or more of the following fields: computer-aided design, mapmaking, and/or animation.

Excellent communication and team skills.


Desired Skills

Some experience with 3D game engines such as Unity or Unreal, experience with C# and/or Javascript. Some experience with graphics analysis tools. Background with VR and AR devices.
