Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintains current knowledge of repair and overhaul methods, processes and procedures by routine review of published engineering data and related information.
  • Establish and maintain Master Work Instructions and Bills of Material for new and existing programs.
  • Maintains repair and overhaul information and records.
  • Plans, troubleshoots and improves repair and overhaul methods.
  • Confers with Quality Control, Material, Production, and other departments to provide technical support and resolve issues on shop floor.
  • Interprets engineering drawings and facilitates new drawings or correction of errors on drawings and documents identified during repair and overhaul operations
  • Reviews drawings prepared by other staff.
  • Consults with OEM Engineering groups to obtain specialized technical information.
  • Completes special projects as assigned by the Manager of Engineering.
  • Undertakes cost reduction and method improvement studies.
  • Responds to shop requests for problem solving assistance.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of new repair & overhaul projects.
  • Provides document administration and configuration planning support as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Engineering.


Qualification:

  • 2-3 years of related experience (preferably in an aerospace environment) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with proven problem solving ability is required.
  • Proficiency with current office software (Word, Excel, Acrobat)
  • SAP experience.
  • Working familiarity with component IPLs and BOMs preferred
  • Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP preferred

Education:
  • Post-secondary technical education in engineering (preferably mechanical or aerospace) is an asset.
  • Bachelors degree preferred
