Cyber Team Member - Indigo Index II

Be a key contributor as part of a Federally Funded Research and Development Center team that supports major law enforcement efforts to fight transnational organized crime (TOC). This opportunity will enable you to contribute to protecting the financial infrastructure of the United States and the investigation of cyber threats associated with TOC groups. You will assist in developing prototypes of advanced information technologies that analyze diverse forms of information in multiple languages and that interact with knowledge management systems designed for strategic investigations and criminal attribution.

To support our sponsors mission, you will draw on MITREs expertise in long-term knowledge management, diverse and multi-language forms of evidence, international multi-authority/agency collaboration, and the integration of criminal intelligence with investigations. 


This work will be performed at our Federal customer's location in Washington, DC.

Key Responsibilities:

Understand the sponsors and nations highest priorities, and continually shape your work to achieve those priorities. This is the sponsors highest profile cyber-related unit, and most of your work will occur onsite at the government facility in Washington, DC.

Collaborate closely with colleagues who have talents outside of your skillset, including foreign languages, digital forensics, database engineering, and sophisticated expertise in attribution, persona development, analysis, criminal intelligence, human intelligence, and law enforcement operations.


 Work with several government stakeholders to conduct multiple forms of independent analysis and to improve processes focused on the integration of criminal intelligence and investigations.

Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a government security clearance, including DHS Fitness.


Required Skills:

Ability to assess complex operational risk quickly and accurately, to make suitable decisions in a fast paced and challenging environment, balancing sponsor needs with FFRDC constraints.
Russian language skills, both written and spoken.
Experience with media forensics, digital forensics, or malware forensics.
Experience with federal law enforcement (FBI or US Secret Service) or the U.S. Intelligence Community is highly desirable.
Strong verbal and written communications skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel in support of operational mission requirements, may be short notice.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience managing the development or modification of critical software tools is highly desirable.
Experience exploiting structured and unstructured data using custom tools.
