Data Science Research Manager - Philips

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Take responsibility for the architecture of a range of products or subsystems - in such a way that future product options and features can be realized with acceptable effects for the earlier products.


You are responsible for

  • Design and implement Machine Learning algorithms
  • Act as a liaison between product and research groups or customers
  • Provide training using Philips technologies for AI and Data Science
  • Act as an integrated team member on given projects.
  • Provide distributed computing capabilities to run Algorithms on massive data
  • Plays an analytical role researching, designing, implementing, and deploying full-stack scalable data analytics vision and machine learning solutions
  • Provide scalable machine learning scoring engines
  • Enable end users to extract insights and Patterns from the data points
  • Evaluate and consider the best of algorithms present in the open source community for creating the ML Libraries
  • Interact with Product teams to understand the problem domain and with researchers to enable them to quickly build the models
  • Evaluate Technologies in the Analytics and Machine learning area
  • Integrate relevant Research ML assets into the Analytics stack
  • Prototype and iterate rapidly
  • Provide tools/toolkits/utilities for app developers


To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Master’s Degree or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics or Computer Science
  • 7+ years of professional experience in applying Machine Learning techniques in a big data environment
  • Programing - R, Scala, Java, Python, SQL, Ruby
  • Machine Learning Techniques - Supervised, Unsupervised, Semi-supervised, reinforcement
  • ML libraries – R, SparkMLLIb, H20
  • Analytics Areas – Image, Text, Numeric, Speech
  • Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing
  • Graph Processing
  • Distributed computing
  • Big Data - HDFS, Yarn, Spark
