We seek a dedicated individual who will perform, preventative and corrective maintenance of medium and high voltage electrical equipment in a Modern Energy From Waste ( EFW) facility . The candidates shall have a minimum of 5 years electrical and or instrumentation experience, in the overall maintenance, installation calibration and repair of plant equipment and systems. Specific responsibilities or job knowledge will include Performs troubleshooting of industrial Electrical & Instrumentation and Control equipment, performs repairs, helps to determine root cause of failure, and works with maintenance management and & engineering to develop reliability resolutions.

  • Works with maintenance and production to complete work both safely and efficiently
  • Maintains accurate equipment repair/modification documentation, and updates equipment files.
  • Troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems, and acts as a resource regarding plant electrical and NFPA70E regulation standards.
  • Maintains a variety of electrical equipment and process control devices including interlocks, control circuits, instrumentation, Delta V, Bailey, Citect and PLC Control systems, 4160 Vac, 480Vac, 208Vac, 120Vac, and 24Vdc systems, motor starters, power distribution systems, transmitters, valves (ball, control, diaphragm, butterfly), process switches, actuators, VFD’s, relays, distribution panels, motors, lighting, motor starters, general wiring, sensors, etc., and all other tasks associated with the Electrical and Instrumentation craft.
  • Performs preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and follows all mandated procedures/regulations related to instrumentation, calibration, process control, related systems.

To be considered for this position the individual must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training as Journeyman Electrician in industrial setting.

  • Three years of demonstrated journey-level electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing plant
  • Three years of demonstrated experience in reading, interpreting and applying national electrical codes, electrical theory and Instrument Society of America standards
  • Three years of demonstrated application of the principles of electrical distribution and generation and equipment including but not limited to transformers, circuit breakers, protective relays, disconnect switches, voltage regulators, automatic transfer switches, synchronizing and power monitoring equipment
  • Three years of demonstrated experience with different functions of electrical equipment including but not limited to battery, control, automation, lighting, motor, heating and cooling
  • Three years of demonstrated skill in electrical troubleshooting and diagnosis procedures
  • Three years of demonstrated experience with electrical test equipment used for electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, and preventive maintenance.
  • Three years of demonstrated experience with PLCs (programmable logic controllers) including but not limited to hardware, programming software and communication protocols
    • Skill in working in a team environment and working independently on projects
    • Skill in the safe operation and use of basic hand and power tools, trade tools such as conduit benders and pipe threaders and electrical and electronic test equipment.
