As a Human Factors Engineer at The MITRE Corporation Center for Programs and Technology, you will be responsible for designing and executing human-in-the-loop experiments, data analysis and documentation, and conducting safety data analyses. You will be leading and supporting teams working in aviation and transportation, developing future aviation and transportation concepts, working across FAA, DOT, and commercial communities.


 


The position requires strong problem-solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be self motivated, willing to learn new 


 things, detail-oriented, and able to work collaboratively with customers and


stakeholders.


 


US. Citizenship or permanent residency is required.


 


 


Key Functions:


Experimental design for Human-In-The Loop studies, statistical data analyses, development of high level concepts, operational impact studies, metrics development and safety analyses. Candidates need to show leadership in these


areas and communicate across levels that include external user communities, internal senior management, and  technical staff.


 



 


 












Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Factors, Experimental or Engineering Psychology, or Industrial Engineering, and three years of experience in designing and conducting Human-In-The-Loop experiments, and performing statistical experiments, and performing statistical analyses of Human Factors data. In addition, the candidate should have an understanding of the latest Human Factors issues and cutting-edge solutions.

Must be able to get a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Human Factors, Experimental or Engineering Psychology, or Industrial Engineering and five years of experience in designing and conducting
 Human-In-The-Loop experiments, performing statistical analyses of Human Factors data, and experience with research and development of aviation systems.



OR



Ph.D. in Human Factors, Experimental or Engineering Psychology, or Industrial Engineering and two years of experience in designing and conducting Human-In-The-Loop experiments, performing statistical analyses of Human Factors data,


and experience with research and development of aviation systems


 


Peer-reviewed publications, experience with tradeoff studies, and knowledge of flight deck or air traffic control operations.
 
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance
