Intern - Thermochemical Hydrogen Data Analysis R&D Undergraduate Summer

Livermore, CA

We are seeking an Intern \- Thermochemical Hydrogen Data Analysis R&D Undergraduate Summer\.

You will collaborate with staff at Sandia and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories on designing and revising database schema and writing programs to automate data processing\. The project you will be working on is focused on managing experimental data in the field of solar thermochemical hydrogen production \(STCH\)\. Open source software will be used to format, store, share, analyze, and visualize a variety of data files generated by analytical instruments and computational tools\. Ultimately this data will be made publically available by the Department of Energy at https://datahub\.h2awsm\.org\.


You bring the confidence and skills to be eligible for the job by meeting these minimum requirements:

+ Currently attending and enrolled full time \(or scheduled to graduate in the spring\) in an accredited undergraduate program

+ Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major

+ Minimum cumulative GPA of 3\.0/4\.0

+ Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer

+ U\.S\. citizenship

Note: If you have not yet started your undergraduate program, please apply to a high school intern position\.

**Additional Requirements**

+ Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Materials Science, Engineering or a related field\.

+ Strong analytical and problem\-solving skills

+ Significant coursework in computer science or applied mathematics or engineering


+ Experience developing code for software projects\.

+ Working knowledge of Python, OpenModelica, and/or JSON\.

Sandia's Hydrogen and Materials Science Department provides the science and engineering needed to accelerate the deployment of clean and efficient hydrogen and fuel cell technologies for vehicle, stationary, and portable power applications\. Security Clearance:

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted security clearance\.

Sandia will conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications\. Further, employees in New Mexico must pass a U\.S\. Air Force background screen for access to the work site\.
