Issue/Causal Analyst (Experienced)

We are seeking a Governance, Risk & Compliance Analyst to fill the role of Issue/Causal Analyst on our team\.



On any given day, you may be called on to:



+ Facilitate effectively with teams from various disciplines \(ESH, Security, IT, Engineering, etc\.\) to conduct causal analysis and risk mitigation for high significant, high impact Issues/Risks

+ Investigate Issues to determine root cause analysis utilizing various quality tools and methods \(i\.e\. The 5 whys, Cause\-Effect logic, Flowcharting, Ishikawa diagrams, Affinity diagrams, etc\.\)

+ Use various Risk Management tools \(Failure modes and effects analysis \(FMEA\), Decision tree, Sensitivity analysis, Cause and effect diagram, etc\.\) to identify treatment plan

+ Review and analyze complex data in support of identifying root cause

+ Support organizations in determining corrective actions to address the Issue

+ Conduct Validations to ensure corrective actions identified and implemented are effective

+ Generate in\-depth Causal Analysis reports

+ Conduct quality reviews of previous Causal Analysis for continuous improvement



Required:



+ Requires bachelor's degree in STEM, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems, Quality Engineering Management, Production Engineering, Quality Assurance, or comparable discipline plus five or more years of experience; or master's degree in the listed disciplines plus two or more years experience; or doctorate in relevant discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience \(a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience required to qualify without a relevant degree\)\.

+ Experience in facilitating teams, conducting causal analysis, creating extensive documentation for each causal analysis, and presenting results to management



Desired:



+ Working knowledge of Sandia National Laboratories and the organizations structure; National Nuclear Security Administration; U\.S\. Department of Energy\.

+ Demonstrated success in conducting Causal Analysis, identifying root cause, determining corrective actions, and validating effectiveness of corrective actions\.

+ Knowledge of quality tools related to Causal Analysis, such as The 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagram, Affinity diagram, Flowchart, Design of Experiments, etc\.

+ Experience in applying quality management systems and tools, including project management, issues management, risk management in supporting programs\.

+ Strong understanding of information technology and data management processes\.

+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with demonstrated ability to apply these skills to resolve complex business issues\.

+ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal\.

+ Ability to organize, establish priorities, lead, and execute business and financial assignments to completion on multiple tasks, under strict deadlines and changing priorities\.

+ Ability to integrate with leadership and interact effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel to build effective working relations, reach consensus\.

+ Certified or qualified as a causal analyst\.

+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influentially in oral presentations and written analyses to program stakeholders, senior executives and federal oversight officials\.

+ Demonstrated success in cross\-functional teams to facilitate and drive integrated, multi\-disciplinary solutions to complex operational problems\.



Department Description:



The Risk and Issues Management Department is responsible for the Risk and Issues Management processes and supporting tools stewardship for Sandia National Laboratories\. This department is also responsible for conducting high significant, high impact causal analysis, managing the Causal Analysis program, and conducting training on processes, tools, and methods related to Risk and Issues Management\.

Security Clearance:



Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted L\-level security clearance\.
