MITRE is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide critical software engineering, software design/architecture, and data engineering knowledge for our customers/sponsors. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your software system skills to influence the development and shaping of work across MITREs programs and domains to focus on technical software challenges, innovative solutions-oriented results, and sponsor impact. Key Functions:



The candidate will provide technical leadership and expertise in solving our sponsor's critical software and systems engineering problems. The candidate will apply their breadth of technical knowledge and experience in contributing to the development of solutions in the area of software engineering, software architecture, software application development, database engineering, cloud technologies, data analytics, advanced technology assessments.












Minimum Qualifications:


 


BS Degree and 3 years of relevant experience


 


Required Qualifications:


 


Experience with Army domain
Experience with Software Engineering, Software Development and Design, Software Testing and Software Architecture.
Hands-on experience in programming languages/technologies such as C#, C++, Java
Experience with data architectures, data models, evaluation of different model architectures, trade studies, and logical and physical model definition
Familiarity and understanding of large-scale distributed systems, messaging and other middleware architectures, to including enterprise service bus and data federation components.
Knowledge of web development, XML, RESTful services, SOAP, JSON
Knowledge of software engineering processes including agile development
Excellent written, interpersonal and oral communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:



Knowledge of Army Mission Command Systems
Knowledge of cloud computing and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware)
Familiar with Database systems, architecture and development
Familiar with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Perl and Python
Familiar with mobile environments, mobile computing, and mobile platform development.
Knowledge of distributed file systems and distributed execution frameworks
Knowledge of software analysis and assessments to improve software quality
