Join MITREs Satellite Communication department working on next generation DoD communication systems spanning space, aerial, terrestrial, nuclear and cyber military domains. We are seeking an experienced RF/communications engineer with knowledge of military and commercial communications systems to contribute to a dynamic multi-disciplined technical team solving critical problems and developing improvements through innovation for nuclear command, control and communications or for tactical communications in a contested environment.
Key Functions:
- Performing complex communication system-of-systems analysis & modeling, including link engineering to assess and optimize performance in contested environments to include jamming, cyber and nuclear weapon effects on communications.
- Tasks may involve leading or performing technology readiness assessments and development of technical roadmaps to provide innovative solutions and advise program offices.
- Tasks may also include hands-on prototyping, integration and testing activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Solid fundamental understanding of several of the following: analog and digital communications theory, digital signal processing, detection and estimation theory, RF performance analysis, modulation and coding techniques, voice coding, propagation and communications channel effects, integration, test, modeling and simulation.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across multiple organizations and engineering disciplines, as well an ability to frame and articulate technical problems in a systems engineering context.
- Familiarity with nuclear command, control and communications, or understanding of impact of nuclear effects to communication systems.
- Familiarity with AEHF SATCOM
- Possess a collateral SECRET clearance and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree and 8 years related experience
