Program Development and Tech Sales (Experienced)

We are seeking a technical sales professional to support technology commercialization and partnerships for the Energy and Homeland Security Portfolio spanning missions related to cyber security, biological threats, and transportation energy\. This position is responsible for 1\) ensuring return on investment for Sandia's intellectual property portfolio through licensing and commercialization of Sandia technologies, and 2\) capturing strategic partnerships with industry, academia, state and federal agencies that will advance Sandia's R&D missions\. Common assignments will include:

+ Negotiating commercialization and partnership deals

+ Identifying, developing, and implementing near\-term and long\-term strategies relating to the development of technologies, programs, or strategic partnerships

+ Achieving commercialization revenue targets

+ Identifying, conducting, and managing sales calls

+ Providing technical and scientific advice to customers, sponsors, and staff/management responding to technology commercialization and partnership related questions, issues, and problems

+ Understanding ofintellectual property;legal,regulatory, andcontractualconstructs andintellectual propertydeploymentframeworks

+ Operating in a complex technical and business environment that requires comprehension and identification of technical and mission objectives, as well as an understanding of complex markets and the federal funding landscape


+ Requires a masters degree in Science or Engineering related field plus seven or more years of experience; or a Law or Business degree combined with a bachelors degree in Science or Engineering related field plus five or more years experience; or doctorate in Science or Engineering related field plus two or more years experience\.

+ Experience successfully identifying partners, and negotiating and executing agreements/contracts for advanced technologies in a multitude of national security areas

+ Experience working with inventors, legal, and companies to execute agreements/contracts


+ Prior experience with government and/or industry partners \(e\.g\. DOE, DHS, automotive industry, DoD, DHHS, NIH, etc\.\)

+ Track record of delivering commercialization results in a licensing position \(e\.g\. achieves commercialization revenue targets\)\.

+ Knowledge of and experience with state\-of\-the\-art licensing advanced technologies and management of technology processes

Security Clearance:

This position does not currently require a Department of Energy \(DOE\)\-granted security clearance\.

Sandia will conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record checks, and employment and education verifications\. Further, employees in New Mexico must pass a U\.S\. Air Force background screen for access to the work site\. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause access to be denied or terminated, rendering the inability to perform the duties assigned and resulting in termination of employment\.
