Description: This job is for a full-time research faculty position in the Test Engineering Division (TEN) of the Electronic Systems Laboratory.  Our research group is focused on the research and development of next generation tools and methods used for Electronic Warfare (EW) and Avionics testing.  These include Hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) test set hardware and software, generation of synthetic test environments through RF threat generation, extraneous RF emitter generation, federated device and discrete interface generation, and data analysis toolsets.  This research requires a mix of hardware, embedded software and application software development.

In this role, you will:

  • Be assigned to the Test Engineering Division to support research projects and business development
  • Support ongoing software development activities required for our EW and Avionics research portfolio.  Coding may require C, C++, C#, Java or Python coding skills.
  • Eventually transition to Task or Project lead for customer funded programs, assuming technical and financial responsibility for tasks.
  • Facilitate business and technical relationships in support of customer program managers and technical leaders.

Education Requirements:  B.S. or M.S. (depending on position rank see below information) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.

Rank as an entry level Research Engineer I / Research Scientist I

Bachelor’s degree, 0-3 years of relevant full-time experience

Rank as a Research Engineer II / Research Scientist II

A Master’s degree and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,

A Master’s degree and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or

A Doctoral degree.

Job Requirements:

  • US Citizenship
  • DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearance within six months after your employment with Georgia Tech Research Institute begins is required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Windows application experience in C#
  • C, C++ programming experience
  • Python (3.x preferred)
  • JavaScript
  • Team Leadership
  • Project management
