Pratt and Whitney Systems Engineering Validation (SEV), is responsible for the validation of development military and commercial jet engines at multiple test facilities. Within SEV, Test Systems Engineering (TSE) provides the engineering, design and procurement of special test equipment, test facilities and test support systems required for validation and production testing of full engines and engine components.

Test Systems Engineering is seeking Project Engineer to manage projects in support of production and development test programs for jet engines and components. This project engineer and his/her team manage engineering projects from initial concept to final installation while interfacing with Program Office, other CIPTs, non-UTC owned test sites, Procurement and Outside P&W Vendors while interfacing with TSE Engineering Staff to insure that the test hardware meets requirements for schedule, budget, and fit and function of engine test hardware. Having strong interpersonal and leadership skills as well as the ability to communicate at all levels of P&W management is important. The Project Engineer is accountable to his/her customers and to TSE/SEV Management.

The major responsibility of this position is to ensure the execute Engineering Standard Work (ESW):

•Manage and execute assigned task activities. These duties include identifying the general project scope, along with managing budget and schedule; and then ensuring progress is made towards task completion. This usually involves using Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and an Integrated Master Schedule, and may include acting as the Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leader.
•Assume role as practitioner of the assigned TSE Engineering Standard Work (ESW) tasks and ensure the execution of Engineering Standard Work.
•Use ACE tools to identify opportunities to improve the tools, methods and processes.
•Communicate any technical issues and risks to TSE/SEV and program management in a timely manner.

Qualification: Candidate must possess excellent organization, communication, and project management skills. Candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work both independently and in a team environment.

A working knowledge using continuing improvement tools (i.e. lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC, etc.) to drive improvements in our processes and customer MFA is a plus.
Education: At a minimum, the candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in mechanical, electrical, controls or industrial engineering with a minimum of 7 years of experience or equivalent.
