Reliability, Maintainability and Safety Engineering has an opening within the

Engineering Product Integrity (EPI) Organization for a Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety Engineer to work on the next generation of military and large commercial aircraft engines.

The Reliability, Maintainability and Safety (RMS) Engineer track field events and/or development test events. Using the event data, the RMS Engineer will work with CIPTs and designers to interrogate and influece the design. The RMS Engineer will utilize Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) tools, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Reliability Models and ACE tools to drive change.

The position requires strong interpersonal skills to work with the designers, customer support, program support, etc.

Other tasks include:

• Generating/facilitating Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), reliability allocations and predictions, and integrating controls system reliability analyses into the propulsion systems analyses.
• Generating/facilitating Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) to influence potential design escapes and improve mitigation strategies.
• Supporting Change Board reviews for pending Engineering Changes and review RCCA and FMECA criteria provided by IPTs/CIPTs for adequacy.
• Supporting reviews of development test failures and maintenance events, and review root cause and closure criteria provided by IPTs/CIPTs for adequacy.
• Monitor field RMS metrics to identify emerging issues and adverse trends, working with the responsible IPTs/CIPTs/Customer Support Engineering to identify root cause and corrective actions.
