Software Developer FPGA with Signal Processing

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is looking for an experienced FPGA Programmer with a strong Signal Processing background who can think outside of the box and doesn’t want to do the same old thing every day. This opportunity is within the Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) Lab.  SEAL researchers investigate and develop radio/microwave frequency sensor systems, with particular emphasis on radar systems engineering; electronic protection and electronic attack; ELINT; COMINT; MASINT; electromagnetic environmental effects; radar system performance modeling and simulation; signal, array, and data processing; sensor fusion; and antenna technology.

Opportunity to polish your expertise with Signal Processing and programming FPGA’s.  In this role you will develop architectures for digital hardware and software systems, implement digital signal processing algorithms in FPGA, and be task leader for projects related to these technologies. In addition you will be a contributing member of proposal efforts.

REQUIREMENTS THAT MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:

  • Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field
  • US Citizenship AND the ability to get a security clearance
  • Experience with abstract math, real time hardware, signal processing or FPGA design.
  • Expertise with MATLAB or Octave, C or C++, VHDL or Verilog, or Xilinx or Altera parts

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in related work
  • MS or PhD  in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other appropriate field, or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrable skills in project leadership
  • Experience with RADAR technology
  • Experience implementing digital signal processing algorithms in FPGA
