Our research and technical expertise in full-spectrum sensing, information technology, test and evaluation, and systems engineering help government agencies defend our nation, secure our homeland and make the world a safer place to live.

GTRI's Information and Communications Laboratory (ICL) in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Software Development Engineer to join its mission of conducting applied research, development, test and evaluation of Ground Electronic Warefare and Ground and Airborne Communications systems. Activities include hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop, system modeling and simulation, system-of-systems and family-of-systems interoperability for lab test set development and engineering.

Position Summary:

FULL LIFE CYCLE DEVELOPMENT.  This position is responsible for design, coding and testing of applications and software. Candidates must enjoy working with open source software and cutting edge technologies. Candidates will contribute to sponsored research projects and have an opportunity to interact with other scientists and engineers. 

Requirements:

RE/RS I:

  • BS in Computer Science OR Computer Engineering 
  • 3+ years of computer programming experience.

RE/RS II:

  • MS in Computer Science OR Computer Engineering 
  • 5+ years of computer programming experience.
  • OR a Doctoral degree
  • Candidates must be a US Citizen who can possess (or currently possesses) at least a DOD SECRET security clearance.
  • Strong Windows and Linux software development and automated build environments experience
  • Demonstrated proficency with C# and Python
  • Demonstrated ability with Windows/Unix/Linux development tools, and extensive familiarity with the software development lifecycle
  • The selection process will include passing a pre-employment background screening.
  • Position will be based in Atlanta, GA, and will include approximately 10% travel.
  • Highly prefer candidates who currently reside in the Atlanta, GA, area.

Prefered Skills:

  • Experience with network analysis tools (Wireshark).
  • Experience with labview and daqMX.
  • Experience with linux kernal development.
  • Experience with android development.
  • Experience with matlab.
