Do you love to solve business problems? If you like to analyze business strategy, translate ideas and needs from stakeholders, analyze business data, and write code, then this is the job for you.   MITREs IT Web Development department is looking for a developer/analyst who will engage with users and business leaders to translate their needs to solutions.    

You will work within a team of full stack web and mobile developers, user experience specialists, data scientists, and product owners.  You will bring your business acumen and systems thinking to help define and shape new solutions.  Your strong communication and data analysis skills will drive the definition and understanding of the needs.  Your developer skills will contribute to the implementation and release to our users.


Key Functions

Engage with users and business leaders to translate strategy and needs to implementation

Develop use cases, business process models, and user stories to communicate business needs

Contribute to the development of web and mobile applications

Help drive, develop and measure impact of new features and solutions

Help develop and maintain operational metrics for the solution portfolio management

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or similar field, and 3 years of experience. Candidate must be able to demonstrate an ability to apply advanced principles, theories and concepts comparable to those obtained with a Master's degree in a relevant field of study. Candidate should understand the missions, domains and challenges of MITRE customers. In addition, the candidate understands that he/she will be fully responsible for deliverables-including definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span.

Required qualifications

  • Ability to work with customers and stakeholders to understand business needs, elicit business requirements, and translate them to system solutions

  • Experience with requirements and business analysis methods (Requirements workshops, Use case modeling, User stories, Business Process modeling)

  • Strong communication and visualization skills

  • Data analysis skills

  • Working knowledge of UML Use case modeling tools, Mind mapping tools, BPM Tools, Visio or similar modeling tools, Tableau or similar BI tools

  • Software scripting skills (JavaScript, Python, XML, Json)

  • Experience with agile development
