Component Design Engineers are responsible for the design and development of electronic components. Responsibilities may include: the design of chip layout circuit design, circuit checking, device evaluation and characterization, documentation of specifications, prototype construction and checkout, modification and evaluation of semiconductor devices and components, performing developmental and/or test work, reviewing product requirements and logic diagrams, planning and organizing design projects or phases of design projects. Responds to customer/client requests or events as they occur. Develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
This position is in the NAND-DTM Group which is aligned to phase 2 of the sale of the NAND business to Solidigm, a wholly owned subsidiary of SK hynix. Employees in this business group will work on developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm. Solidigm, a leading global supplier of NAND flash memory solutions, is headquartered in San Jose, California with offices worldwide.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum
Qualifications:
-The
candidate must have a Ph.D. degree (relevant work experience is a
plus but not required) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics,
or a related discipline.
-Demonstrated expertise in
semiconductor device physics, semiconductor technology and
semiconductor device characterization techniques.
Preferred
Qualifications:
-Understanding of NAND Flash cell and array and the NAND
technology in general.
-Understanding of manufacturing
yield, design and analysis of experiments, statistical data
analysis techniques, and device modeling.
-Good
problem-solving skills demonstrating good analytical capabilities,
sound technical foundations, and creativity.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
