The Account Manager is responsible for spearheading supplier capability enhancement and infrastructure improvement to deliver the best supplier for Intel. The individual will own the supplier's short-term and long-term performance at Intel, including deliverables in: commercial, technical, operational, quality, strategic positioning and development and relationship building.In addition, the focus of the Account Manager is to develop two-way, mutually beneficial relationships with strategic suppliers to deliver greater levels of innovation and competitive advantage. The individual should be seen and recognized by Intel partners and stakeholders as the expert on all matters relating to the supplier and active across all areas of the account.
An Account Manager is assigned to lead a strategic account and is responsible for but not limited to:
- Understanding internal supplier relationships thoroughly to drive strategy and/or gap closure
- Demonstrating the art of managing/messaging the supplier. Utilize management and stakeholder engagements appropriately to motivate supplier to deliver
- Assembling and leading a cross-functional team to coordinate supplier activities across business units and functions. Establishing internal Account structure and clearly setting accountability and performance metrics.
- Developing and executing a long-range strategic plan for their supplier.
- Orchestrating internal stakeholder alignment (executive level and down) to ensure alignment between supplier strategic plan and Intel's technology and requirements
- Developing long term supplier commercial strategies consistent with sourcing and SCS roadmaps and executing at the right insertion points to enable the best outcome for Intel. Includes CPA, development collaborations, bundled deals--Proactively developing, aligning, and executing action oriented improvement program to enable EPICS level performance across all
- Ensuring a efficient and effective cadence of key management meetings to align strategy and ensure operational performance is managed and communicated
The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behaviors traits:
- Relationship/Communication Skills: Orchestrate unified communication internally and externally with supplier, including executive management meetings and strategic direction alignment. While keeping the best interests of Intel, be a visible advocate for the supplier within Intel. Ensure that a healthy escalation process is in place on both sides to drive gap closure.
- Business and Financial acumen / Influencing Skills: Comprehends balance sheets/cash flow and short-term/long-term financial trends for supplier. Shapes the business model Intel-supplier for mutual benefit. Derives trends from wide-ranging datasets and drive strategic initiatives/collaborations (both technical and commercial) to resolve the most pressing supply chain issues for Intel.
- Leadership: Coach and grow the internal account team. Set the vision and direction for all of the commodity managers and technical program managers on account team. Influence across organizations. -Situational Leadership: Handle tough challenges while internally or externally engaging executives or key stakeholders.
- Agility: Adapt and swiftly respond to changes in the business environment.
- Assertive and Self Driven: Work independently with limited supervision from management.
- Supplier knowledge: Know the supplier, their culture, vision, mission, market positioning, financial positioning, R and D trend and technology roadmap synergies, executive body strength and expertise, maintain solid relationship with C-level executives and two levels down, structural cost understanding, manufacturing operations and supply chain understanding internal dynamics. Having a pulse on the supplier performance at Intel and knowing when to personally engage, and whom to engage at the supplier, to deliver results.
Qualifications
Minimum
qualifications are required to be initially considered for this
position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates.
Minimum
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Semiconductor or relevant technology industry experience.
- 6+ years Intel logic or memory technology and factory knowledge experience
- 6+ experience supplier
Management/Negotiation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of supply chain, data analytics, spares, service, and management systems
- Requirements listed would be obtained through a combination of industry relevant job experience, internship experiences and or schoolwork/classes/research.
