Job Description

Intel labs is a world class research facility with the mission to drive research and development of innovative technologies. As an Artificial Intelligence (AI) researcher you will co-lead an ongoing project at Circuit Research, Intel labs, located in Hillsboro-Oregon. The ideal candidate will have an opportunity to contribute to intelligent Silicon reliability and security architectures and IP Research and Development on the most advanced CMOS silicon processes.


The candidate responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Architecture, RTL coding, Sensor(s) IP development
  • Verification and calibration,
  • Timing and performance analysis
  • FPGA synthesis and emulation
  • Followed by detailed data collection and analysis on Intel's Stratix-10/Agilex FPGA platforms.

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering

2+ years of experience in below areas:

  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP) techniques, data processing skills (Python/MATLAB/DSP algorithms etc.) and Machine Learning (ML) expertise is required.
  • Machine/deep learning workload acceleration on CPU/GPU and FPGA systems.
  • Design, development, verification, and debug of Synthesizable IP designs mapped to FPGA platforms.
  • FPGA/ASIC design and verification flows, IP Architecture, RTL coding, Functional verification, Synthesis, Gate level simulations and Static timing analysis (STA) for FPGA mapping.


Preferred qualifications:

  • A strong research publication track record.
  • Passion for analyzing silicon data, signal feature extraction methods, Machine Learning algorithms and Tiny-ML model development skills for embedded systems.
  • Proficient in using electronic lab debugging tools such as Logic analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and data collection from Silicon sensor IPs.
  • Experience with RTL to FPGA programming on Altera Stratix-10 boards using Quartus tool flows.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-silicon validation/verification flows in simulation for functional FPGA emulation of IPs.
  • Excellent hardware design, problem-solving, and debug skills is a plus.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
