We are looking for research scientists to help Apple create engaging AI and data science education experiences. We need researchers who want to conduct research on learning within engineering and partnership activities that bring together educators, students, software engineers, and designers. You will help cross-functional teams to gain insight into processes and possibilities for learning, and ensure that a variety of youth and adult perspectives shape our work.

Key Qualifications

• Experience conducting design-based research on learning.
• Passion for partnership with educators and compassion for learners.
• Ability to use mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) to investigate and evaluate educational designs.
• Clear and compelling writing and public speaking skills.
• History of peer-reviewed academic publication.

As a member of this team, you will:

* Collaboratively create learning experiences that help people to develop, deepen, and apply their expertise in ML and AI.
* Study how people learn or conduct machine learning activities, including designing, building, and testing ML models and interactive systems that embed those models.
* Partner with engineers and other team members to create and investigate new tools for supporting learning and other activities in the domain of ML and AI.
* Author curriculum and other educational materials to support teaching and learning about ML.
* Actively engage with the academic community by collaborating with universities, publishing and presenting your work, and participating in other academic efforts.

Education & Experience

PhD or EdD in Learning Sciences, Curriculum & Instruction, Science Education, Math Education, Computing Education Research, or related fields. Or MS with 5+ years of experience conducting research.
