The Siri team is building groundbreaking technology, and we are looking for people like you!

As a manager in the AIML Siri organization, you are responsible for improving the quality and effectiveness of our user research capabilities. You work closely with other leaders in the organization to promote a user-centric approach and help the business to make informed decisions, as well as to build best-in-class products that meet our usability standards. You and your team collaborate with product, design, and marketing teams to define the most important research questions, and have a clear point of view on the most important insights needed for the success of Siri. You will support the user researchers in determining the highest impact opportunities, and the formulation and execution of end-to-end research projects that align with research questions, ensuring effective research design, high quality synthesis of insights, and thoughtful translation of insights into product and service features.

Key Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of and product experience in the Voice Assistant space, and experience with user research methods relevant to voice users.
  • 10+ years of relevant Program or Project Management experience, establishing programs, supporting teams, and developing relationships.
  • 5+ years of direct management experience.
  • Experience working directly with user researchers, product managers, designers, and engineers.
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in driving communication throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing results-oriented, strategic, and operationally complex projects, working with cross-functional teams to deliver results.

Description
- Articulate a vision for user research in our Siri and Search product development process and overall strategy, working with the leadership team to help implement a user-centric approach across our organization.
- Work collaboratively with product to identify opportunities, help us set product strategy using user insights, and enable our team to innovate through a deep understanding of customer needs. Ensure accountability to user insights and goals throughout the product development process and lifecycle.
- Design and maintain scalable organization in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment with a well-documented roadmap, goals, and objectives.
- Create and maintain a repository of insights gathered from team's research toolkit, including interviews, surveys, usability testing, ethnographic observations, etc.
- Work with Purchasing and Legal to facilitate vendor signups, review contracts, and manage the work of vendors. Build out and maintain infrastructure required for user research labs, including licenses and equipment.
- Advance our ability to effectively communicate research insights in ways that make them easily accessible and actionable by various stakeholders
- Facilitate connection, diversity, and inclusion within the organization. Build and scale research globally to strengthen the impact, implementing processes, connecting teams, and problem solving operational hurdles to enable researchers to do their most impactful work.

Education & Experience

BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, other related fields, or equivalent practical experience
