Job Description

The Intel Movidius VPU IP Architecture team is looking for a Sr. Neural Computing Performance Architect to lead VPU architecture performance modeling and analysis activities.

In this position, you will be function as a senior technical member in the VPU architecture performance COE (center-of-excellence) team. The primary responsibility of the team includes developing the next generation VPU architecture performance model and conducting performance analysis using models from various benchmarking suites or customer end-to-end use cases.

As an AI Performance Modeling Architect, you will:

  • Define performance model architecture and modeling flow to best reflect the interworking of VPU SW/HW.
  • Define modeling KPI in terms of accuracy and speed, understand the trade-offs of various modeling approaches.
  • Define the interface of the performance model and analysis flow for data correlation with NN compiler, SW stack, HW design, emulation.
  • Implementing and testing performance model with systematic SW development practice.
  • Conduct performance analysis of various neural network models.

Qualifications

Education Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 3+ years of experience OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 2+ years of experience.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of computer architecture concepts such as pipelining, caching, parallel computing with SIMD/VLIW, multi-core/multi-threading, data precision, memory hierarchy.
  • 3+ years experiences for object-oriented programming in C/C++ or Python. Willing to design class objects, data structure and API methods.
  • Understanding of HW modeling concepts such as event-driven, concurrency, etc.
  • Knowledge of AI framework, AI models and basic neural computing operations.
  • Knowledge of data precision, floating point vs fixed point computing trade-offs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in architecture definition or mentorship of junior team members.
  • 3+ years of experience of multi-threading programming.
  • 2+ years of experience on performance modeling, usage of System C or virtual modeling platforms.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
