Job Description

GTRIs Cooperative Education (co-op) program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state-of-the-art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full-time work at GTRI with semesters of full-time school.

Georgia Tech Research Institute's Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) currently seeks a Co-op student to join our Air & Missile Defense Division starting spring 2021 semester. The student will assist Research Engineers with modeling and simulation and algorithm development. The student should be interested in learning about radars and remote sensing. Projects are likely to involve digital signal processing, tracking, resource management, or other radar related tasks.

Due to the nature of the work at GTRI, job duties will depend upon contract and sponsor needs. The student could participate in the following projects/tasks:
Produce and modify MATLAB code as directed to perform radar signal processing.
Produce and modify MATLAB code as directed to aggregate metrics.
Assist with documentation and presentations.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Co-op

Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics
Must be registered for co-op credit with your university
Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in 1 or more programming languages
Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
Familiarity with configuration management tools
Strong written and verbal communications skills

Hours per Week

40 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
