Job Description

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is looking for exceptional candidates with a strong interest in algorithm development, data analysis, target tracking, and fusion. This position is part of the Sensor Information and Visualization division within the Electro-Optical Systems Laboratory. The Sensor Information and Visualization division focuses on the effective communication of complex data to human users. This data typically originates from real or simulated sensors and is processed at multiple layers resulting in an eventual action by a user. The division is seeking candidates who have the ability and desire to work within the data fusion and target tracking element of this processing chain. The job will require the development and testing of tracking algorithms and a strong mathematics background.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent.

Senior Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent and seven (7) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent and nine (9) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent and four (4) years of relevant full time experience.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant experience with target tracking and data fusion
  • Relevant experience with data filtering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with time series data analysis
  • Experience with image processing
  • An understanding of the use of machine learning in the data fusion domain
  • Experience with the use of EO/IR sensors for target tracking

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.
