This position is for an Analog Design Engineer in Technology Definition and Enablement group within the IP Engineering Group (IPG). Candidate will participate in the assessment of process technology collaterals encompassing simulation and layout domains.

Responsibilities include: collaborating with Analog Mixed-Signal IP teams and other partner groups on technical related items, drawing schematics for representative analog blocks, test bench creation, running simulation, assessing layout design rules and running layout verification. We are seeking for an individual who has strong technical knowledge in analog design, circuit simulations, and validation, as well as basic understanding of layout design and associated rules. Candidates must also possess strong initiative, analytical/problem solving skills, and an ability to work in a diverse team environment.

As an Analog Design Engineer, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Working closely with senior team members on analog benchmark circuits including running functional, aging and variation analysis. Reviewing the results to draw conclusions on process changes.
Creating and/or migrating test benches from one technology node to another.
Working with design environment support teams to enable simulations when process technology collaterals or tools are updated.
Engaging with senior team members to learn Intel-specific layout design rules, running layout verification regression tests, comparing results, and drawing conclusions on changes.
Collaborate with senior team members on test case generation for test chips and help with post-Si assessment/debug. In addition to the qualifications listed below, the ideal candidate will also have:
Excellent communications skills, both written and spoken
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse group of partners and in demanding environment


Candidate must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience - OR - Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of experience in:

  • Very good understanding of Analog/Mixed Signal/custom Circuit Design,
  • Solid understanding of Semiconductor device physics,
  • Hands-on experience in circuit design and simulation using industry standard design automation tools such as (e.g., Cadence Design Systems ADE Spectre),
  • Basic understanding of Analog Circuit Design layout

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with layout verification, including design rule checks, connectivity checks, density checks, etc.
Scripting experience with Perl or Python.
Experience analyzing circuit reliability such as electrical overstress, electro-migration, self-heat, circuit aging, and electrostatic discharge (ESD)
