Job Description

Georgia Tech Research Institute's Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) currently seeks motivated graduate students for the spring 2021 semester to join the Antenna Systems Division. Students will assist in the design, integration, and testing of novel antennas and related front end electronics.

Due to the nature of the work at GTRI, job duties will include:
Performing 3D design and modeling of antennas utilizing HFSS, CST, and or other commercial software.
Programming in Python or MATLAB to automate the creation of 3D antennas in HFSS.
Performing circuit analysis of active RF circuits.
Performing RF link budgets.
Reviewing commercial parts and cataloging state of the art commercial capabilities.
Creating technical documentation.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Graduate Research Assistant

Pursuing a Masters degree or Ph.D. at Georgia Tech in Electrical Engineering
Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
Commit to 15-20 hours of work per week
Completed 18+ hours of graduate electrical engineering coursework Or (one-year full-time equivalent)

Graduate Intern (Part-time)

Pursuing a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
Must commit to a full semester. The work term is January 2021 through May 2021

Preferred Qualifications

Pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering
Extensive experience with HFSS and its scripting tools
Experience with Python
Experience with RF/microwave circuit design, analysis, and simulation
Extensive experience with antenna analysis and design
An involved advisor who is willing and able to assist the student in their efforts

Hours per Week

15-20 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
