Lockheed Martin Space in Louisville, CO is seeking an engineer to work on a team developing cutting-edge embedded systems targeting problems related to (but not limited to) cyber security

The Job:
The team is responsible for developing embedded cyber systems in many exciting domains including satellites and avionics. This position provides the opportunity to get involved in designing and developing new software and hardware cyber components to be integrated into future aircraft and spacecraft. The ideal candidate for this position would have experience with C/C++ software for embedded systems and FPGA cores using Verilog or VHDL. Involvement in all phases of engineering is required, i.e. development of requirements and design documents, project plans, development, test procedures, and verification testing. The selected candidate will also likely be involved in embedded cyber security related research and development projects

Keeping up with the latest methods, tools, and technologies is important to their success and as such most projects target the latest FPGA devices on the market and training opportunities are often made available

Basic Qualifications
- Experience with embedded software and hardware
- Experience with the entire systems engineering life-cycle including technical planning, requirements decomposition, development, system integration, and verification
- Excellent communication skills and writing skills

Desired skills
- Experience with FPGA devices
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is preferred for this position
- Experience with embedded development environments and languages, debuggers, test equipment
- Experience with Command and Data Handling (C&DH) systems
- Experience with MIL-STD-1553, SpaceWire and Ethernet communications standards
- Experience with the design, development, documentation, test, and debug of cyber security systems
