We are currently hiring for an Assistant Director of Facility Operations for Charlestown Continuing Care Retirement Community located in Catonsville, Maryland. This is one of our largest communities that sits on a beautiful 110 acre campus with over 2,046+ residents. This Assistant Director of Facility Operations ensures the community is meeting all Federal, State and local government regulations while maintaining a safe, sanitary and healthy environment where residents want to live and employees want to work.



Assistant Director of Facility Operations Job Responsibilities:


  • To plan, provide and maintain a quality community with respect to the interior and exterior of the buildings, roads, grounds, tools and equipment to achieve a safe, sanitary and healthy living/working environment for residents and staff, and to provide residents with quality transportation, security, communication and facility services.

  • Ensure the community and department goals in the areas of finance, satisfaction, and engagement are met by using system, process and control measures.

  • Management of the departments included in the scope of job are: Transportation, Security, Project management, Maintenance & engineering, Communications, Housekeeping, and Grounds

  • Respond to emergencies at the community as required.

  • Fill in for the Director of Facility Operations in their absence.

  • Implement system and controls to achieve financial performance as established by the departmental budget. Assist in the budget process for both operating and capital plans.

  • Ensure that requests for the purchase of assets and services are made and in accordance with Erickson Living Communities Purchasing policies, procedures and process.

  • Ensure all the required training by managers is completed and documented.

  • Bachelor degree preferred.

  • Five years or more of business experience in General Services / Facilities Operations required.

  • Ability to initiate and implement necessary plans to assure proper maintenance of facilities

  • Experience with CMMS is preferred.



  • Licensing/certification to be obtained if required by State.

  • A valid driver’s license is required if operating Community vehicles and must adhere to policies and procedures of Erickson Living Management.  

  • Minimum 10 Hour OSHA training required within 1 year of hire.
