The Department of Systems Engineering at the United States Military Academy invites applications for a full-time, 12 month per year, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor.

Salary: $130,200 to $171,627 per year

• You will focus on developing and conducting applied research for Department of Defense organizations.
• You will teach and oversee courses in an accredited Systems Engineering department.

This is an academic-tenure-track position with an initial term appointment in the federal excepted service not to exceed 3 years. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. Faculty that attain the academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor may have the opportunity to non-competitively receive a permanent appointment. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.

SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Applicants will be evaluated on the following: 1) Academic Accomplishment (PhD preferred) in Systems Engineering (SE), Engineering Management (EM), Data Engineering, Systems Design, or closely related field; 2) Ability to attract and conduct funded research in areas relevant to the Department of Systems Engineering, and report results in professional meetings, journal publications, department seminars and relevant course; 3) Demonstrable experience in contemporary System Engineering, Engineering Management, Data Engineering, or Systems Design techniques, methodologies, and best practices; 4) Ability to plan, develop, evaluate, teach, and course-direct courses in Systems Engineering, Engineering Management, or Systems Design; 5) Ability to provide advice to the Head of the Department of Systems Engineering and Program
Directors on curricular, pedagogical, professional, and research matters, and show potential for participation in the governance of the Academy through service on departmental and Academy-wide committees; and 6) Demonstrated ability and potential for leadership in professional societies and communities associated with Department of Systems Engineering specialty fields and the Academy.
