The position has an expected start date of August 1, 2020 and will be housed on the Idaho Falls campus adjacent to the Idaho National Laboratory as part of ISU’s Polytechnic Initiative. The Idaho State Board of Education has just completed construction of two state of the art buildings, the Collaborative Computing Center and the Cybercore Integration Center as collaborative centers between Idaho higher education and the national laboratory. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related degree by the time of appointment. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of independent scholarly activity indicated by refereed publications, works under review, and/or works-in-progress. Applicants must be able to conduct high-quality teaching and advising at undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a wide variety of CS courses and demonstrate a commitment to graduate education at both the M.S. and Ph.D. levels.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred candidates will possess an outstanding record of scholarship and research contributions, with accomplishments that demonstrate the relevance of their research to the CS field in general. A record of excellence in externally funded research, teaching, ability to effectively communicate with students, and a record of public engagement are desirable. Candidates with experience and research potential in computer and network security, advanced operating systems, cryptography, secure databases, and advanced encryption strategies are highly encouraged to apply.
