The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to teach and conduct research in Electrical Engineering, starting in August 2020. Candidates with expertise in power and energy systems, power electronics or electrical engineering applications in medicine and biology preferred. The Department has embarked on building a strong research program in biomedical engineering and is seeking candidates to lead this effort. Candidates are sought who can contribute to all levels of the electrical engineering curriculum, and who have a strong research and publication record in their area of expertise.

The Department’s dedicated Sustainable Energy Research lab is well equipped to perform characterization of batteries, fuel cells, solar cells and high frequency power electronic devices and converters. In addition, the Philadelphia area is noted for its world class healthcare industry, making it a prime location for biomedical engineering research.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses on topics in the areas of specialization noted above and develop new undergraduate and graduate courses in these areas. They will also be expected to conduct research, publish and secure external funding for their research programs, advise undergraduate and graduate students, supervise research performed by undergraduate, Master’s and Ph.D. students, and participate in service to the department and University through committee work, recruitment, and interaction with industry.
