Frostburg State University, Department of Physics and Engineering, seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Materials Engineering position to begin Fall 2020. Salaryand rank commensurate with experience and qualifications. University System of Maryland benefits package included.

Responsibilities:

Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate excellence and experience in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and develop undergraduate-level research projects. Duties will include student advising, professional development activities, and service to the Department, College, and Community.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications: Earned Doctorate in materials engineering or closely related field. Demonstrated ability to teach materials engineering and other related courses. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:Strong background and experience in materials engineering and related discipline course teaching. Proven record of engineering education, significant experience in student education and engagement. Specific teaching interest in materials engineering, structural materials and other related courses. Candidates with proven expertise in materials manufacturing, theory and modeling are especially encouraged to apply.
