Salary for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and in establishing a world-class experimental research program. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to, biomedical optics and biophotonics as applied to novel sensors, diagnostics, and imaging solutions. Optical technologies that advance surgical, clinical, and remote healthcare capabilities leveraging cloud connectivity are also of interest. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a desire to integrate their own area of expertise into a broader health sciences context that can be shared with students in the classroom. In addition to courses in their domain of expertise, the position anticipates developing and teaching interdisciplinary content focused on applying design thinking principles to health and wellness challenges through experiential project-based collaborative learning. These courses may also include course-based undergraduate research experiences (CURES) for nonmajors to engage students in addressing authentic research challenges.
