Our group partners with the business units and development organizations to make the next generation of Automotive compute products possible. The Automotive Q&R Team is looking to hire a highly motivated Automotive Product Quality and Reliability Engineer, also known as the PQRE, focused on next generation SOC product development and support, to help assure the highest quality products for our customers.

The PQRE responsibility is to drive quality requirements across the whole SOC product development lifecycle, also known as the PLC. This entails supporting Technology Development and Business Units in selecting appropriate process technologies for desired products, completing reliability and risk assessments across automotive mission profiles, monitoring product development and validation, completing and executing a product qualification plans, validating manufacturing launch readiness, and assuring product safe launch is achieved. Throughout this, the PQRE will be supporting customers within their own product integration and development, APQP, sampling and prototype phases, and PPAP. The PQRE will monitor and report on progress to internal stakeholders and partner organizations across the full PLC. PQRE support may include maintaining product customer post launch quality via failure analysis and 8D support.

In order to excel in this position, the candidate should be comfortable in a highly matrixed environment that includes numerous internal partners, external customers, and suppliers. Key skills this position needs include:

  • Demonstrated leadership in owning and managing a project to completion (management and execution of projects).
  • Skills to identify, assess, and manage risks.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, as well as skills to influence stakeholders/partners.

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of industry experience across several engineering disciplines in at least one of the following:
    • Understanding of Automotive Industry quality and reliability requirements.
    • Foundation in semiconductor device physics, IC fabrication and/or Semiconductor assembly/packaging.
    • Semiconductor circuit design and architecture.
    • Planning and/or running accelerated stress testing or component qualification.
    • FMEA assessment and 8Ds methodology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automotive manufacturing process, development, and qualification (APQP, PPAP, AEC-Q100, IATF16949, etc).
  • Experience working with external OSATs, global supply chain management.
  • Coordinating Design of Experiment (DOEs).
  • Familiarity with silicon and packaging failure mechanisms and FI/FA methods.
  • Reliability risk assessment modelling tools.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
