What Your Job Will Be Like:

We are seeking a Business Management Professional that will collaborate with technical teams to apply end-to-end financial and project management rigor to an array of technical projects. The ability to establish and mature relationships, identify and implement improvement opportunities, and lead in an ambiguous environment will be essential for success.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

+ Provide decision support on a wide range of business areas including financial planning, resource management, trends and projections, and business processes.

+ Research, record, assemble, and evaluate project information or data and recommend sound, practical solutions to project related issues.

+ Work with the project technical leads to execute project management activities. Activities include project initiation, project plan development, project execution, project monitoring and controls, project financial management, and project close outs, including WBS design, schedule and cost baselines, resource management, partner and customer engagement, and performance reporting and analysis.

+ Monitor compliance with financial and other business policies and assist with compliance efforts

+ Collaborate with technical and business partners to identify, plan, and address short and long-term operational needs of projects.

+ Facilitate team communications and lead meetings with a cross-functional team across several organizations including but not limited to Legal, Business Development, Procurement, Strategic Partnership Projects (SPP) Agreements and Finance.

Qualifications We Require:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Business or other relevant field plus three or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education

+ Knowledge of and proficiency with common office software, such as the Microsoft suite of products

+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.

+ Ability to organize, establish priorities, lead, and complete business and financial assignments to completion on multiple tasks, under deadlines and changing priorities.

+ Strong financial acumen and analytical and critical thinking skills

+ Master's degree in relevant field of study

+ Ability to adapt and be flexible within a changing environment

+ Knowledge of project management principles, including standard guidelines.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

+ Ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate with others on the team.

+ Ability to identify improvement opportunities, recommend potential courses of action, obtain agreement from partners and customers, and implement identified solutions.

+ Excellent knowledge of and proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products.

+ Proven ability to integrate with technical project and organization teams and partner effectively.

Security Clearance:

Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
