Job Description

The CAD Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to:


Program management of the EDA enablement of Intel IDM2.0 next generation process, packaging, and manufacturing technologies by harvesting EDA ecosystem capabilities and industry learnings as well as manage external engagements with industry consortia. EDA enablement tasks include program management of EDA collaborations with suppliers to develop capabilities that will accelerate IDM2.0, supporting next generation process enablement, and engagements with industry consortia and standard bodies to drive EDA, IP, and Security standards for interoperability. EDA supplier management initiatives include advanced node PDK enablement, STCO for multiple suppliers on next generation process nodes, management of EDA standards, and support for all related collateral, including CNDAs, RUNDAs, and SOWs.


Work closely with our Global License and Contracts Negotiation and Compliance Teams along with our support partners in Intel Legal and Finance. Work closely with EDA suppliers and BU senior management stakeholders.
Given the global distribution of Intel's design teams and suppliers, will include meetings scheduled outside of your normal business hours. This position requires being available for off-hour issue resolution.


The ideal candidate should exhibit the following behavioral traits:

  • Self-motivated, flexible individual comfortable with working independently as well as in a multi-site team and should have a tolerance for dealing with ambiguity.
  • Demonstrate customer orientation skills, should have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, as well as the willingness to multi-task, since you will be providing service to the internal engineering community and IFS.
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in an office environment with very senior team members.
  • Problem-solving that demonstrates a willingness to use multiple resources to resolve customer issues and should be proficient in the documentation of procedures as they are developed.
  • Communication and influencing skills are required since most of our communications with internal customers, partners, and external suppliers are via telephone and email.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Qualifications listed as preferred or additional will be considered a plus factor for applicants.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineer, Computer science, or a related field of study with 6+ years of experience in design, development or relevant experience OR Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study with 4+ years of experience in design, development, or relevant experience.
  • Understanding of EDA tool capabilities, CPU, ASIC and SoC tool flows, and knowledge of the external EDA landscape including industry standards
  • Candidate must have the skillset described in the job description.

Desired Qualifications:


Experience with managing external EDA suppliers and global initiatives as well as familiarity with the supplier ecosystem and EDA/IP standards initiatives.
