Chief Product Owner – Micro Focus Products



SAP Innovative Business Solutions, is a global organization developing custom solutions that address our customers’ business requirements. By extending and enhancing SAP solutions (CDP) or building entirely new Standard Products known as Focused Business Solutions (FBS), SAP Custom Development can help customers to flexibly, quickly and safely adapt to rapidly changing business and market conditions. In addition, SAP Custom Development helps customers to protect their SAP investments by following the SAP development methodology and standards to ensure quality and upgradeability, mitigating business risk by synchronizing custom solutions with the SAP release strategy and supporting custom solutions by offering custom maintenance options. SAP Custom Development then invests in standard products or niche standard products known as FBS. The Product Owner for Micro Focus Portfolio will be responsible for the end-to-end success of this product.  This includes ensuring proper roll-in of requirements, working with the partner development organization to define the product and finally enabling the sales teams to sell this product.



SAP Customer Experience Billing Solution Sales & Billing (SSB) - is a product that specifically addresses subscription billing requirements for customers using ECC sales & distribution or S/4HANA sales. The product owner for SSB is expected to ensure:


Work on the Product Definition

  • Translate market requirements into product requirements/features in total alignment with Customer Experience Billing, solution management
  • Defines in close alignment with the executable product roadmap & strategy in alignment with S/4HANA core development
  • Aligns development strategy with SAP Customer Experience Billing Cloud and On-Prem teams
  • On board customers through SAP Customer Engagement initiative for early adoption and customer engagement during development cycle.


    Enable the Field

  • Work with regional representatives to define roll-out strategy in collaboration with Customer Experience Billing CoE.
  • Create documentation for knowledge transfer
  • Create content for regional rollout (demos, training material, sales kits...)
  • Provide content to train consulting, partners, sales and presales on product


    Support Sales

  • Support strategic deals directly
  • Act as a trusted advisor on strategic accounts and establish privileged customer connections
  • Support regional sales leaders to support global deals on a local basis
  • Obtain transparency over sales pipeline
  • Respond to in-depth questions and follow-up in all deals



  • Coordinate the various sales and delivery activities including partner eco-system, SAP services and sales teams.
  • Work with regional sales leadership and consulting leadership to ensure single SAP point of view and appropriate partner support and coordination to the market
  • Regularly attend and speak on the topic of Micro Focus at user and customer conferences




    Proven track record of building a strategy and then leading the execution of the strategy by detailing roadmap and scoping in a particular product / solution area

    Proven ability to support strategic deals and be viewed as a thought leader by customers

    Very strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including ability to rapidly gather data, structure hypotheses, and develop synthesized findings/recommendations

    Strong team orientation and ability to thrive on virtual, international, cross-functional teams

    Proven record of excellent performance

    Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science or related fields

    Excellent verbal, communication and board/executive level presentation skills in English, other languages a plus



    Minimum of 5 years of related experience in product management or customer facing leadership roles

    Proven track record of success of independently leading large-scale programs/projects with experience in project planning, tracking and controlling

    Must have a high level understanding of the SAP’s Customer Experience Solution offerings and their associated business processes.

    Must have an in depth understanding of “Quote to Cash” business process.

    Hi-tech, ProServ, Transportation industry experience is a big plus.

    Must have first-hand experience in supporting product sales

    Must have firsthand experience in engaging with key accounts and reference customers

    International experience – working and/or studying in several countries – a plus
