Leads and sets technical direction of operating system software development, including Chrome and Linux. Makes architectural decisions regarding software structure, interfaces, frameworks, protocols, algorithms, and/or validation direction. Leads and does pathfinding activities and surveys future technologies. The candidate will work closely with Intel's Client Computing Group (CCG) and key industry partners to introduce innovations that create client OS differentiation. The ideal candidate will exhibit passion for troubleshooting systems as well as excellent communication and presentation skills including interacting with executive level staff, customers, and ecosystem partners. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Software and Advanced Technology Group (SATG) which is a part of Intel's Chief Technology Officer's (CTO's) organization.
Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science
or Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field10+ years of
software development experience, including:- Software
development/integration/validation- Hands on experience
architecting, designing, and implementing complex software
projects- Open Source experience - Familiarity with a several Linux
distributions such as Ubuntu, Red Hat, SUSE, or others- Strong
collaboration and networking skills- Able to provide technical
leadership and direction to junior design engineers in the group
and able to come up with technical proposals helping
implementation- Excellent programming skills in C/C++ and Linux
internals - Experience working with worldwide teams and have strong
English language oral and written communication skills. -
Presentation experience in technical forums, as well as a track
record of influencing decisions in senior management
forumsPreferred Qualifications:- Track record of successful
upstreaming of Linux kernel patches is a strong plus. - Strong
knowledge in Intel Architecture.- Critical thinking and ability to
assess feature gaps and recommend optimal resource investments-
Expertise or domain knowledge in the areas of display, graphics,
media, virtualization at edge devices, deep learning inference,
Linux kernel etc.

$207,010.00-$330,570.00

Work Model for this Role
