We are seeking an exceptional engineering leader to guide a team of software engineers in Contact Technologies, focused on building incredible experiences through macOS applications and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail on par with Apple's high standards, a consistent record of partnering with a diverse set of partners, and a deep technical understanding of building intuitive and scalable products

Key Qualifications

  • Experience building and leading a team of high-performing engineers
  • Prior/recent coding experience with both Objective-C and Swift, preferably with high-demand, large-scale enterprise application
  • Experience defining product features, functional specifications, and development schedules across organizations
  • A consistent record of learning and trying new technologies through prototyping
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, tools, and best practices including performance optimization through automation and unit tests
  • Demonstrate innovative and creative thinking capabilities and possess good troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to brainstorm and communicate technology ideas and vision with various partners, adapting messaging based on the audience
  • Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail, especially in predicting and preventing potential future challenges
  • Ability to work with vendors, multi-functional teams, internal partners
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage difficult situations in a fast-paced work environment
  • Superb interpersonal skills and polished demeanor, especially across dynamic audiences; e.g. working with multi-functional technical and business teams

Description

The Interaction Engineering team's focus is to enable interactions between our customers and Apple through such solutions as asynchronous and synchronous chat, voice, email, task distribution, and screen sharing, including innovative solutions in social media and for Beats 1 radio. You will be responsible for building products and working with various stakeholders to define the roadmap and feature-set for everything you work on. Innovation will be key to ensure all new features are optimized for experience and efficiency in a timely manner. We're looking for someone with the insight and innovation to develop new features to improve the desktop experience and the passion to bring those features to life.

This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving and communication skills. You will be expected to dive in and take ownership of a technology or problem space: You will be the expert and go-to person for your areas of support

Education & Experience
• BS/BA degree or equivalent technical experience

Additional Requirements

  • - 5+ years of experience in the software industry
  • - Strong object-oriented design and development experience
  • - Expert knowledge of concurrency, scalability and fault tolerant designs
  • - Experience and understanding of architectural principles and frameworks
  • - Experience with using various distributed caching solutions
  • - Experience with testing frameworks, continuous integration and build tools
  • - Keen eye for detail and stubborn resolve to work towards high quality deliverables
  • - Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team on high profile, critical projects
  • - Familiarity building enterprise class front-end applications (Swift, Cocoa, Web)
  • - Familiarity building messaging, queuing and integration platforms nice to have
  • - Familiarity building highly performant enterprise grade web services nice to have
  • - Excellent written and verbal communication skills
