Job Description

Our Cloud and Enterprise Solutions Group (CESG) Software Center of Excellence team is looking for software performance/optimization engineers to work with our largest hyperscale cloud service provider customers.

As an AI Performance Engineer, you will analyze the customers' AI workloads and optimize their frameworks, inference engines, primitive libraries, and/or graph compilers to improve their workloads' performance. To be successful in this role it is essential that you have extensive experience analyzing and optimizing code, executing deep learning models, and communicating complex solutions.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below:

  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
  • Effective use of the hardware's memory hierarchy, registers, and ISA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

CESG is part of the global Data Center and AI organization that develops the products and technologies that power 9 of every 10 servers sold worldwide. This includes high-end co-processors for supercomputers, low-energy systems for enterprise and the cloud, and solutions for big data and intelligent devices.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or related field

2+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Analyzing and optimizing software using C/C++/intrinsics to drive performance
  • Running deep learning models with TensorFlow and/or PyTorch (or Similar deep learning frameworks)
  • Writing low level Deep Learning kernel
  • Runtime environments with virtualization Linux containers schedulers resource managers


Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • As a user with source control systems Git and familiarized with CICD methodologies
  • Runtime environments with virtualization, Linux containers, schedulers, resource managers, kubernetes and orchaestration
  • Graph- and kernel-level optimizations in TensorFlow, PyTorch, or related library
  • NLP models and experience with Power and Performance Tools
  • Using compiler profiler math and communication libraries
  • Analysis of both breadth and depth of a variety of performance sensitive software stacks
  • Analyzing performance of largescale applications in complex high performance computing systems
  • Doing performance modeling characterization of compute bound IO transaction latency bound applications
  • Working with hardware chip platform solution architects

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$149,020.00-$223,560.00

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
