Intel System Software and Simulation Engineering (S3E) team is looking for an experienced Cloud Software Development Engineer.

This is an experienced full-time position responsible to architect and drive software design and development efforts to accelerate and automate workload analysis and tracing framework enablement for architecture and microarchitecture performance models to be used in a wide range of products.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Building and supporting infrastructure and building blocks for Intel performance simulators and models
• Debugging, determining root cause, and fixing failures in existing and new infrastructure and software tools
• Experimentally exploring feature ideas through modeling, simulation, and data analysis.
• Interacting and communicating with architecture, design, validation, and research teams to achieve project goals.
• Supporting internal and external software development and optimization.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Education Requirement
Bachelor's OR Master OR Ph.D. in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering plus 1 years of relevant work experience.

Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of work or educational experience in several of the following areas:

• Programming in C/C++
• Programming in Python
• Workload performance analysis
• CPU architecture and OS internals

Preferred Qualifications
Experience writing clean code and working with CI/CD framework.
High-level modeling of CPU cores, core components (e.g. caches), or systems.
Industry experience in CPU product development, delivery, and support.
Experience in assembly language
Experience in debugging simulation failures.
Experience in Simulation environments like Simics
Experience in Containers.
Experience in building automation systems
Familiarity with broader computer architecture research through conferences and/or job responsibilities.
Familiarity with compilers and low-level software optimization.
