It is an exciting time to join Components Research within Intel's Technology Development organization as we continue Intel's innovations supporting Moore's law. The Equipment engineer is responsible for the planning, install, qual, maintenance, and demolition of factory tools in RP1. RP1 is a unique research fab where we reimagine the future of semiconductor manufacturing and bring to life innovations that have made Intel an industry leader. To keep a full research pipeline for TD and in support of TD's mission to Get Ahead, RP1 is seeking to improve the modules install and maintenance capabilities to reinvigorate a torrid pace of research and innovations. Help the RP1 team increase install and tool efficiencies by evaluating our maintenance structures and incorporating proven BKMs. Work with our design team, install engineers, facility coordinators, module engineers and technicians to find ways to accelerate critical factory tools.

As an Equipment Engineer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage multiple Tool installation, conversions, and demolition projects.
  • Work on all steps of the tool design package development.
  • Partner and collaborate successfully with key stakeholders including factory, facility owners, global supply management, design, site construction, trades, and suppliers.
  • Work with tool Install, construction, and operations to ensure a safe and quality work environment while reducing impact to factory operations.
  • You will attend design reviews to ensure accuracy of tool design and validate key facilities components are identified in the design.
  • You will work with the engineering tool owner, suppliers and trades to get all items installed correctly and per design.
  • Schedule, prepare and execute maintenance on existing tool sets.
  • React and enable quick turnaround on unscheduled maintenance.
  • Walk the jobs daily to ensure all planned activities are on track and accurate.
  • Report schedule updates to senior management for all activities.


You must possess the minimum qualifications below to be initially considered for this position. The experience listed below may be obtained through schoolwork, classes and project work, internships, military training, and/or work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a Engineering major
  • 2+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry with process equipment experience.
  • Knowledge and expertise in the installation of process tool equipment
  • Knowledge and expertise in preventative maintenance on production equipment
  • The use of job-specific fixtures, basic hand tools, and airline supplied respirators
  • Skilled in problem solving and troubleshooting

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of design packages.
  • Understanding of 6D procedures (Decon/demo)
  • Understanding of electrical and mechanical diagrams
