The
Components Research group delivers innovative semiconductor and
packaging technologies research and development. The group focuses
on unique, enabling capabilities across all aspects of Intel's
semiconductor processing roadmap. Components Research engineers are
responsible for leading programs to design, fabricate and analyze
novel
devices/interconnects/patterning,
materials and integration schemes across a wide variety of novel
applications.
Job responsibilities include
ownership of Components Research project deliverables which you
will support through lab tool ownership, process development and
coupon-line operational activities aimed at developing rapid
prototypes for Intel's most advanced technology nodes. You will
participate in one or more Components Research working groups
providing regular updates with high quality data related to thin
film process development (e.g. Evap, PVD, PLD, ALD or CVD) in order
to guide program decisions. Tool ownership will involve assuring
tool safety, maintenance, process development and user training
& scheduling all while role modelling Intel's cultural
attributes. Finally, you may lead projects for tool upgrades, new
tool selections and participate in the tool installation or
demolition
process.
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Minimum qualifications:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's Degree (with 3+years of Semiconductor work experience), or Master's Degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
2+ years experience in the operation and/or maintenance of semiconductor thin films deposition equipment (e.g. Evaporators, PVD, PLD, ALD, CVD, PLD or PVD etc.).
Willing to work in a lab and clean room environment, wearing GorTex gowns, booties, safety glasses, gloves and an airline respirator.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in thin film characterization, e.g. SEM, AFM, four point probe, XPS etc.
Demonstrated hands-on, experimental approach to identifying and solving complex technical problems.
Flexible to work in multi-tasking environment and self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision.
Detailed data collection and analysis.
Have a proven track record of role modelling safety in the lab environment.
Communication skills to support research projects with a variety of stake holders.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
