The Trusted & Secure Systems department (05327) is seeking a motivated and energetic embedded engineer to join our team working on complex multi-disciplinary designs targeting command and control, communications, and data processing for scientific and national defense applications. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for contributing as part of a team to complex systems that target state-of-the-art embedded platforms. Having a desire to learn and develop your own skills will be crucial and beneficial as you join a fun and motivated team to accomplish missions vital to our nation.

You will work alongside world-class authorities and emerging leaders and use your skills in the following areas:

+ Embedded systems
+ Real-time data processing
+ Large scale SW development techniques
+ Object-oriented software frameworks and architecture development
+ Algorithm development, implementation, and validation
+ Verification and validation techniques

Required:

+ You possess an undergraduate and advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; OR a bachelor's degree as stated above plus four years of experience in lieu of an advanced degree.
+ You possess demonstrated software development skills and familiarity with modern software development methodologies, practices, and tools.
+ Your background includes experience with object-oriented software development as well as experience with Unix/Linux operating environments.
+ You can acquire a DOE Q security clearance.

Desired:

Ideally, we would like to see your background include some of the following:

+ Experience with C++ and/or Python
+ Experience in SW build environments and revision control (CMake, Jenkins, Git, etc)
+ Experience targeting embedded processors in FPGAs.
+ Experience with HW/SW or system integration and troubleshooting
+ Experience in scientific/engineering data processing software development.
+ Experience with embedded Linux
+ Demonstrated ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment, building consensus and resolving issues.
+ Good interpersonal and oral skills
+ Current DOE Q-level clearance.

Department Description:

Organization 5337, The Trusted & Secure Systems department focuses on the development of secure and aware command, control, and communications functions for terrestrial, airborne, and space based systems that are critical for national security applications. Representative system components include those necessary for protection of high value assets, various point-to-point, static and dynamic C2 architectures, and situational analyses requiring compact operating systems and processing. The development and integration of resilience, confidentiality, integrity, and availability is necessary for high reliability systems critical for national security missions.

Security Clearance:
